Christian Education

Each Sunday from September through May, we offer faith education for all ages from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. There is a nursery for the youngest children and age-appropriate classes for elementary and middle school children.

Youth (9th – 12th grade) gather in the Youth Lounge (lower level off of the Fellowship Hall) to build Christian fellowship and discuss current events in their lives through a faith perspective. This year the class will use a curriculum called “Caffine.”

Adults have a choice of traditional Bible Study or Faith Exploration, which looks at contemporary topics, Christian history, and theology. Often in the fall and spring there is a special adult education class offering on Sunday morning that is attended by the two regular classes and others interested in the topic being presented.
During the summer Columbia UCC has a Vacation Bible School. The VBS meets in the evenings during a week in July.
Confirmation instruction is offered to young persons in the 8th and 9th grade on an every other year basis. The next confirmation class will begin in the fall 2017.
There is also a year round program for youth. The young people of CUCC enjoy fellowship, discuss topics of interest, participate in service projects, and take trips to serve others or to learn. For instance, in June 2015, the youth traveled to Memphis, TN, and spent time at the Civil Rights Museum there.

Come, grow your faith at CUCC!
