Because we know how fortunate we are, we are committed to sharing our abundance with others.

Locally, we work with the Loaves & Fishes soup kitchen on the third Monday of each month; collect Christmas gifts for needy families through the Voluntary Action Center; volunteer at The Food Bank on the second Tuesday evening of each month and collect a special offering for the Food Bank on the 5th Sunday of months what that occurs; participate in “Clean Up Columbia” and “For Columbia” (a newer ecumenical day of service in the spring).

In the wider world, we support Heifer Project International, the Central Missouri Festival of Sharing, and many other witness and service programs through the United Church of Christ’s national and global ministries including, for instance, supporting the Church World Service Blanket collection each year. Columbia UCC is a “5 for 5” congregation, that is, a congregation that contributes to all five all church offerings of the United Church of Christ.
