Because we know how fortunate we are, we are committed to sharing our abundance with others.
Locally, we work with the Loaves & Fishes soup kitchen, Voluntary Action Center, several food pantries and The Food Bank, Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity, St. Francis and Lois Bryant temporary housing, and Personal Energy Transportation.
In the wider world, we support PATCH (Parents and Their Children), Heifer Project International, the Central Missouri Festival of Sharing, and many other witness and service programs through the United Church of Christ’s national and global ministries.
Our youth have attended work camps and mission trips as far away as Wyoming, North Carolina, and Florida. They also regularly work with local projects like The Wardrobe, Ronald McDonald House, and Rainbow House.
We also have developed a relationship with the community of El Pital in Honduras. We made one-week work trips in 2007 and 2009, and our next trip is planned for March 2012.
If you’re interested in any of these opportunities, please contact the church office. You can find a place to serve at Columbia UCC!
